Board of Health · Meeting of April 1, 2026

HUDSON — Board of Health continued transfer station expansion hearing with expert and departmental testimony. The Hearing Officer permitted late-disclosed testimony from the interim DPW Director despite intervener objections. Air quality consultant Jablonowski testified regarding modeling showing compliance with ambient standards but acknowledging that cumulative impact and toxics analysis were not performed.

Interim DPW Director Purimetla testified the relocation would not significantly change operations and that approximately 1,570 transfer station permits were issued in 2024, with about 1,600 households participating in curbside collection. B-P Trucking VP Gary DePaolo testified the company seeks to increase the permit from 350 to 850 tons per day for economic feasibility and offered to accept conditions including anti-idling enforcement, environmental review, and ventilation systems. The hearing continues April 2 and April 6.
