HUDSON — The Board of Health, chaired by Matt Gallen, continued a public hearing on a transfer station expansion project at 1 Municipal Drive/300 Cox Street. Residents and community advocates testified about concerns regarding traffic impacts on Cox Street, fire risk from construction debris, and potential effects on emergency response times. Licensed traffic engineer Mr.
Cloutier testified that the proponent's analysis identified concerns including increased truck volumes and decreased level of service at certain intersections, with 4.9 seconds of additional delay at the school driveway and 6.4 seconds of additional delay at Main Street/Cox Street. The proponent presented supplemental rebuttal testimony from engineer Scott Thornton, who testified the updated analysis did not materially change conclusions. The hearing continues April 13.
