The Board of Health continued a public hearing on B-P Trucking's request to expand the Hudson Transfer Station.
Board of Health · Meeting of April 6, 2026
HUDSON — The Board of Health continued a public hearing on B-P Trucking's request to expand the Hudson Transfer Station. The applicant testified it sought 850 tons per day capacity but would consider reduction to 700 tons; Gary DePaolo disclosed the facility exceeded its 350 tons per day limit approximately 36 to 37 times yearly and does not report exceedances to regulators. Multiple intervener groups opposed expansion, citing traffic impacts (estimated 448 additional daily trips near Mulready Elementary School), persistent odors, air quality concerns, and safety risks.
A community survey of 88 residents found 100 percent expressed concern and 80 percent were "extremely concerned." The hearing continues April 7 at 6 PM.
