HUDSON — Cemetery Commission voted unanimously to use an approved spray for gravestone cleaning and began planning a grant to fund repairs to damaged headstones at Main Street Cemetery. Commission member Michael Volk's walk-through inspection found significant deterioration: 10 fallen and 10 discolored stones on the west side and additional damage on the east side. The board contacted Louis Monti and Sons, a gravestone restoration firm in Marlborough, for cost estimates and will pursue grant funding for repairs.
The Commission also addressed correspondence with town officials regarding historical cemetery records and received updates on three cemetery accounts that will be reviewed by DPW staff.
