HUDSON — The Forest Avenue School Improvement Council reviewed reading fluency progress and staffing changes at its April meeting. Jen Letourneau, building coach, explained the district's DIBELS assessment process, which tracks students identified as at-risk in oral fluency through one-minute individual tests in grades 1-3. Midyear benchmark data showed that 56 percent of students identified as at-risk have achieved ambitious growth, tracking toward a goal of 80 percent by end of year.
The council also discussed staffing updates, including the hiring of principal Tricia O'Reilly and a new special education paraprofessional, though an ELL teacher and SEA clinician position remain unfilled.
