The Lake Boon Commission introduced a proposed by-law amendment to prohibit new docks and moorings in Basin 4.
Lake Boon Commission · Meeting of March 4, 2026
HUDSON — The Lake Boon Commission introduced a proposed by-law amendment to prohibit new docks and moorings in Basin 4. Chairperson Dan Tereau presented the restriction to protect water quality and public safety in the narrow, ecologically fragile basin, citing concerns about the adjacent Lakemont development and cumulative impacts of additional watercraft structures in this constrained area. Approximately 12 public speakers addressed the proposal, discussing water quality, habitat protection, deed restrictions, and development impacts.
The Commission deferred the vote to its March 18, 2026 meeting to hear presentations from the Healthy Lake Boon Science Advisory Board, Lake Boon Association, and the Hudson and Stow Conservation Commissions.
