Hudson DPW begins hydrant flushing across town
The Hudson Department of Public Works announced Oct. 29 that hydrant flushing has begun and will continue for a few weeks until the whole town is completed, with crews working 3 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The Town of Hudson announced Oct. 29 that the Department of Public Works has begun hydrant flushing throughout town. Crews will be out between 3 p.m. and 11 p.m., and the work is expected to last a few weeks until the whole town is completed.
On Oct. 29, crews were working on Wilson St., Arlington St., Irving St., Cottage St. (from Packard St. to Ridge Rd.), Shawmut Ave., Ridge Rd., Plant Ave., Farley School, 136 Central St., Highland Park Ave., Laurel Dr., Gerry Dr., Glen Rd., Hillside Rd., Tiffany Ln., Nixon Rd., Reagan Cir., Falls Brook Rd., Riffles Ln. and Bush Rd.
The town said residents may notice discolored water during flushing, caused by mineral sediments, which does not pose a health risk. To clear it, residents can run all cold-water faucets for about 10 minutes until the water runs clear. Residents may also experience low water pressure during flushing, which is described as short term and will subside once flushing is finished in a given area.
The town thanked residents for their patience.
